Established in 1952, the Department of Electronic Engineering (formerly Radio Electronics) now comprises six research institutes spanning information optoelectronic technology, information systems, communications, circuits & systems, microwave & antenna, and information cognition & intelligent systems.
The department balances fundamental theory, applied technology, and system engineering, supported by national key programs and close partnerships with industry and leading universities worldwide. Research strengths cover lasers and optics, wireless and networking, integrated circuits, and emerging intelligent systems.
