Research Status

1. National Science Funding, China, “Transmission and Fusion of Sensing Information in Cognitive Wireless Access Networks”, Jan. 2010-Dec. 2012, Principle Investigator.

We exploit the scientific issues in future cognitive wireless access networks that share spectrums of primary systems. Quickest spectrum sensing and sensing information transmission protocols were developed.

2. Young Faculty Research Funding, Ministry of Education, “Fundamental Theory of Integrated Broadband Communication and Broadcasting Networks”, Jan. 2009 – Dec. 2010, Principle Investigator.

We exploit the scientific issues in Integrated Broadband Communication and Broadcasting Networks that can significantly enhance the spectrum efficiency. Information theoretic capacity analysis was carried out. Capacity achievable codes for Integrated Broadband Communication and Broadcasting Networks was also developed.

3. Huawei University Funding, “Key Technology in Cognitive Radio based Spectrum Sharing Systems”, Dec 2009 – Dec 2011, Principle Investigator.

The project developed spectrum sensing algorithms and protocols for practical spectrum sharing systems. Sensing results based primary user localization techniques was developed. Based on the PU localization, Radio Environment Map was further constructed.

4. National Science Funding, China, “Cognitive Radio based Cooperative and Relaying Communications”, Jan. 2009-Dec. 2012, Secretary.

We exploit the scientific issues in cognitive radio based cooperative and relaying communications which can efficiently utilize the 3-D spectrum holes. Based on accurate cooperative sensing and localization techniques, efficient relaying protocols were proposed for cognitive radio networks.
