The Institute of Information Optoelectronic Technology of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University will hold the "2018 Summer Camp of the Institute of Information Optoelectronic Technology of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University" at the Rohm Electronic Engineering Hall, Tsinghua University on July 13-14, 2018. The activity will enhance the understanding of undergraduates and postgraduates in domestic colleges and universities on the Institute of Information Optoelectronic Technology, Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University through lectures, visits and teacher-student exchanges and other forms. At the same time, it plans to provide an opportunity for students who intend to apply for Grade2019 test-free recommended doctoral students (including recommended for direct admission and not recommended for direct admission)to meet with the doctoral supervisors directly. The official enrollment work will be organized by the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University at the beginning of the 2018 fall semester according to the unified arrangement of Tsinghua University. The summer camp is expected to accept 35 people. Please take care of your own food and accommodation and the summer camp will only provide lunch for the two days.
Taking the information optoelectronics and optoelectronic technology as the discipline development, relying on the scientific research strength of the National Information Science and Technology Laboratory and faced with the prospect of the photoelectron playing an important role in the information society of the 21st century, the Institute of Information Optoelectronic Technology, Tsinghua University is committed to training high-level special talents in the information optoelectronics research field, who have solid theoretical foundation, abundant knowledge, high innovation ability and are good at applying high and new technologies to the national economic construction in China. At present, the Institute has 8 professors, 14 associate professors, and 5 assistant professors. There are 23 undergraduate courses offered under the charge of the teachers and 14 postgraduate courses. The Institute has a postdoctoral research station and about 3-4 postdoctoral fellows begin to work at the postdoctoral research station every year, and about 30 doctoral students are recruited every year.
I.Application qualification
Undergraduate and postgraduate students in universities in the whole country (graduated in 2019), major requirements: Physics/Applied Physics, Optical Information, Electronics, Automation, Materials and other related majors.
Requirements for undergraduate students:
The total score obtained during the first five semesters of the undergraduate course ranks the top in the same major of the same grade in the University (top 5% in terms of the comprehensive score).
With the strong interest in academic research, the undergraduate is characteristic of powerful innovation consciousness, innovation ability and professional ability.
Sound in body and mind, honest and trustworthy, rigorous and upright in learning, free from any punishment.
Requirements for postgraduate students:
The postgraduate student is engaged in scientific research systematically and deeply and makes outstanding academic research achievements.
With the strong interest in academic research, the undergraduate is characteristic of powerful innovation consciousness, innovation ability and professional ability.
Sound in body and mind, honest and trustworthy, rigorous and upright in learning, free from any punishment.
II.Application materials
Required materials:
1.One copy of the application form of the "2018 Summer Camp of the Institute of Information Optoelectronic Technology of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University". (Notes: undergraduate students and postgraduate students shall fill in their respective forms).
2.One copy of personal statement: introduce the professional background, research work that the applicant has been engaged in and the research direction that the applicant is interested in (within 1,000 words).
3.The undergraduate students are required to provide the transcripts of each subject for the first 5 semesters and the ranking of the overall evaluation scores for the first 5 semesters (official seal of the university or the academic department of the school or the department should be affixed).
4.The postgraduate students shall provide supporting materials for the published academic papers and other academic achievements.
Additional materials (to be submitted based on their own conditions)
1.Photocopies of certificates on proficiency in English.
2.Other materials: Including photocopies of certificates of awards & honors (academic awards), etc.

The subject of the email is "Name + Registration Application of the Summer Camp", and the deadline for application is before 24:00 on June 20, 2018.
Notice will be issued to those eligible for the Summer Camp before June 28 (in the form of email and telephone). Students who are not notified are not selected and no additional notice will be issued.
Participants of the Summer Camp shall bring the written materials for material verification and review of the doctoral supervisors, which include: printed application form and personal statement with signature and additional materials and so on. The undergraduate students shall bring the transcripts of each subject for the first 5 semesters and the ranking of the overall evaluation scores for the first 5 semesters (official seal of the university or the academic department of the school or the department should be affixed)
