    At 8:00 am, the host announced the beginning of the graduation ceremony. Firstly, the Chair of the Department of Electronic Engineering and the Department of Microelectronics and Nanoelectronics made speeches respectively. Wang Yu, Chair of the Department of Electronic Engineering mentioned the objective difficulties encountered by students in Grade 6 at the present stage, and encouraged the students to realize that the current situation is both a challenge and an opportunity. Mr. Wang left a 16-word message for graduates: Value foundation, think independently, select a direction, realize collaboration and win-win, encourage everyone to pay attention to the needs of the nation and society and apply their knowledge to make the electronic information technology play a bigger role in various fields. He also hoped that students would often return to their alma mater and keep in touch in the future.

    Wei Shaojun, Chair of the Department of Microelectronics and Nanoelectronics, expressed his pride in cultivating outstanding talents as a teacher, and hoped that the students would live up to the expectations of their families, schools and society. In the meantime, Mr. Wei proposed three expectations to the students: Firstly, they should hold the bottom line for being a human in the future life; Secondly, they should understand the conditions of a country and the people, and strive to be a doer; Thirdly, they should have a strong body and strive to work healthily for the motherland for 50 years. He also reminded his students that opportunities are always for those who are well prepared and hoped that everyone would make good preparations.

    Then Zhou Shidong, Director of Grade 6, made a speech. While congratulating the students for "breaking away" from the heavy schoolwork, he also reminded everyone to develop the concept of lifelong learning. Taking the rapid development of domestic mobile communications as an example, Mr. Zhou illustrated the mutual promotion of demands and technology, and encouraged students to focus on social needs and think about their objectives of the struggle in the next 20 years. Mr. Zhou also encouraged everyone to bravely face the endless challenges and carry forward the spirit of self-improvement through the comparison between the time background of the construction of the Yangtze River Bridge by the fathers and the present.

    Zhu Li, alumni representative in Grade 2006, Founder of Deptrum gave messages in video form. By use of his experience of studying abroad and starting up business in school period and since then, he shared his three insights with the students: Firstly, treat setbacks correctly, and there are opportunities in setbacks; Secondly, choose the direction you love and cling to it for a long time; Thirdly, after graduation, you don't need to compare yourself with classmates horizontally, but you should find out your self-positioning through vertical comparison and gradually improve yourself.

    Cheng Dali in Grade 62 made a speech as a student representative. In his speech, he detailed the stories in his studies and life from entering the campus, military training to the students' day' evening party, curriculum examination and thanked the teachers for their arduous efforts made in imparting professional knowledge to the students, scientific research methods and rigorous academic attitudes, the counselors for their company and teaching in the university, parents and relatives for nurturing and concerns and the classmates who were together morning and night for growing up together in learning and life. He hoped that Grade 6 would be worthy of the instructions given by the school and teachers in the future, and strive for the development of the Electronic Engineering and the progress of the country and society.

    Huang Yidong, Former Chair of the Department, expressed his blessing and encouragement to smooth graduation of students in his speech. Huang Yidong thanked all the students for learning and living and spending their undergraduate time in the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, and expected the students to seize opportunities, meet challenges, and make contributions to solving the bottleneck problems in the national electronic information field and hoped that students can shoulder the mission and responsibility bestowed by the times, contribute to the country and society and create their brilliant lives.
