Since January 2020, many confirmed Covid-19 cases are reported in Wuhan and other parts of the country. The severe epidemic situation tightly affected the students of Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University. Alumni of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University across the world took action first and tried their best to gather global strength and spread love. They have made the contributions as the students of the Department of Electronic Engineering should do while the nation is fighting against the COVID-19 epidemic.

After the Branch of Department of Electronic Engineering, the Tsinghua University Alumni Association issued a fund-raising announcement to alumni on February 20, alumni from all over the country responded actively and made donations enthusiastically to offer support during epidemic prevention period. The donation amount totaling RMB 520,685.33 was raised within 2 months, 21 days and 24 hours, and a contract for 10 medical respirators was signed within 36 hours, and this batch of respirators will be delivered directly to General Hospital of the Yangtze River Shipping, The Central Hospital of Wuhan and Jingzhou No.1 People's Hospital within one week.

All ten respirators have been transported to Wuhan on February 25.

In this fund-raising rally, alumni such as He Jing (graduate of Department of Electronic Engineering 1994) and Wang Yue (graduate of Department of Electronic Engineering with a master’s degree 2014) are personally responsible for fund-raising, procurement and transportation etc. to ensure that materials are transported to the hospital. All the details of the activity shall be open, accurate and efficient.

"No matter how small your contribution is, it is also a kind of support." In this fund-raising rally, alumni from Department of Electronic Engineering actively participated and carried out wide publicity campaign. A total of 1,494 alumni participated in the donation with 61 donation teams established. As long as everyone dedicates, with all the concerted efforts from across the country, we will surely end the epidemic. It is the common belief of every graduate of Department of Electronic Engineering to unite as one and overcome the difficulties together.
