On February 16, 2021, the launching ceremony of the China-aided transmission system of the Timor-Leste's Digital TV Demonstration Project participated in and completed by the digital TV technical team of our university was held in Guiço, East Liquiçá, Timor-Leste. Xiao Jianguo, Chinese Ambassador in Timor-Leste, and Ruak, Prime Minister of Timor-Leste attended the event and delivered speeches. Over 200 people, including Francisco, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Social Communication of Timor-Leste and representatives of the Timor-Leste government, media and Chinese-funded enterprises in Timor-Leste participated in the event.

The project adopts the DTMB and DTMB-A terrestrial digital TV broadcasting transmission technology developed by the digital TV technical team of our university and provides free clear and colorful digital TV programs with rich contents for over 200,000 residents in the Capital and the surrounding areas of Timor-Leste.

The project has not only realized the fact that Chinese technologies, standards and products have gone abroad, but also driven the culture and industry to venture abroad. It is a positive action to implement the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" Initiative, and realizes the sharing of digital dividends while deepening connectivity.
