    Teacher from the Department of Electronic Engineering Won the Distinguished Technical Achievement Recognition Award of the IEEE Communications Society

    At the 2018 Global Communications Conference just concluded, Professor Niu Zhisheng from the Department of Electronic Engineering won the "2018 Distinguished Technical Achievement Recognition Award" issued by the IEEE Communications Society Green Communications and Computing Technical Committee to commend his outstanding technical leadership and achievement in green wireless communications and networking.

    Professor Niu Zhisheng is one of the earliest scholars in the world to conduct research in the green wireless communications and networking. The paper "Cell zooming for cost-efficient green cellular networks" with him as the first author published in IEEE Communications Magazine in 2010 won the "IEEE Communications Society Asia Pacific Outstanding Paper Award" in 2013, and he serves as a member of the editorial board in the journal field of IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networks. Meanwhile, he is also a chief scientist of the National Fundamental Research Program (so called 973 Program) of China "Fundamental Research on the Energy and Resource Optimized Hyper-Cellular Mobile Communication System" (2012-2016), which is the first in the green wireless communications field in China.
