On the afternoon of September 16, 2018, the First Member Congress of Tsinghua Alumni Association of Department of Electronic Engineering was held at Rohm Building. Mr. Shi Zongkai, Deputy Director of the Council of Tsinghua University and Vice President of Tsinghua Alumni Association, Mr. Tang Jie, Secretary of Tsinghua Alumni Association, Academician Lu Jianhua, Dean of School of Information Science and Technology, Mr. Zhang Keqian and Mr. Feng Zhenghe, Former Chair of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Ms. Huang Yidong, Chair of the Department of Electronic Engineering, and Mr. Jin Depeng, Party Committee Secretary, as well as over 100 alumnus representatives from all over the world attended the congress. The congress reviewed and revised theWorking Measures of the Tsinghua Alumni Association of Department of Electronic Engineeringand elected the first Board of Directors of Tsinghua Alumni Association of Department of Electronic Engineering. The congress was presided over by Qu Di, an alumnus of Grade 2007.

Mr. Shi Zongkai firstly delivered a speech. He gave a high affirmation of the achievements made by the Department of Electronic Engineering in talent training and alumni work, and praised the contributions made by alumni in promoting the national development and improving the university's reputation through taking distinguished alumni as examples. He emphasized that great importance should be attached to the alumni work to enable alumni always to maintain a sense of belonging to Tsinghua culture and give full play of their support role in education, teaching and scientific research to encourage Tsinghua Alumni Association of Department of Electronic Engineering to explore positively to make demonstrations to all alumni of the university.

Then Ms. Huang Yidong comprehensively introduced the current status of the Department of Electronic Engineering and the achievements it has made in recent years to the alumni present. She pointed out the reason that the Department of Electronic Engineering can win international and domestic awards for many times with its international discipline ranking leaping from 24 to 8 in just 6 years is the concerted efforts and permanent cure of the whole department that has made drastic reform in curriculum system, scientific research system and personnel system and other aspects. At the same time, it positively builds high-end experimental centers, scientific research platforms, and has established a result incubator - - Institute for Electronics and Information Technology in Tianjin. She hoped that the alumni can pay constant attention to the Department and support its development, and make unremitting efforts to build a world-class electronic engineering discipline.
Mr. Zhang Keqian, Former Chair of the Department of Electronic Engineering, speaks
Subsequently, Mr. Zhang Keqian reviewed the history of the Department of Electronic Engineering, and specially wrote a poem to hope that the alumni can firmly remember that "the Department of Electronic Engineering will always be a warm home for you". Member representative Huang Zemin told the past that he celebrated the 90th anniversary of Tsinghua University in Japan. He deeply felt that the reputation assets of Tsinghua are the foundation laid by the older seniors and he called everyone to cherish the precious wealth.
Wang Yu, Associate Professor and Deputy Party Committee Secretary of the Department of Electronic EngineeringTsinghua University, makes a report on the work of the Alumni Association
Mr. Wang Yu, Deputy Party Committee Secretary of the Department of Electronic Engineering, introduced the objectives of principle of the work of the Alumni Association and its development planning. He hoped that the alumni can give more advices and suggestions, draw on collective wisdom and absorb all useful ideas, and integrate multiple resources to jointly do the alumni work well.
Alumni sharing
Alumnus representatives such as Chen Datong (Grade 1977), Wu Ping (Grade 1979), Lu Jianhua (Grade 1981), Zhao Lixin (Grade 1985), Dou Dejing (Grade 1991), and Yang Fan (Grade 1999) spoke one after another and shared their school experience and talked about the good teacher-student relationship, friendship of fellow students and work perceptions, and put forward many constructive opinions on discipline construction and alumni work, and expressed their gratitude and best wishes to the alma mater.
The successful holding of the First Member Congress of Tsinghua Alumni Association of Department of Electronic Engineering is of milestone significance, making that the alumni work of the Department has gradually embarked on a standardized, institutionalized and scientific road, and it will definitely further deepen the comprehensive exchanges between the alumni and the teachers and students of the Department, and build a spiritual home of shared friendship and common development.
