On April 7, 2025, a high-level delegation from Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, visited the Department of Electronic Engineering (EE), Tsinghua University. The two institutions engaged in in-depth discussions, covering key topics such as electronic engineering, global education, technology transfer, and future academic collaboration.

Tsinghua EE Department: Introduction and Vision
Prof. Yuan Shen, Party Secretary of the EE Department, delivered a welcome address and introduced the department's key strengths, including its large alumni base, globally educated faculty, and strong industry connections. The EE Department promotes a closed-loop innovation ecosystem encompassing fundamental research, academia-industry collaboration, and technology transfer. The department also puts effort in global education, through English-taught programs, international exchange and joint degree opportunities.

Khalifa University: Strategic Vision and Partnership Goals
His Excellency Prof. Ebrahim Al Hajri, President of Khalifa University, outlined Khalifa University’s strategic research focus in health & longevity, advanced materials, digital transformation, among others. Khalifa University aims send sponsored students annually for study at Tsinghua and seeks collaboration on PhD and dual-degree Master of Innovation programs.
H.E. Prof. Al-Hajri also highlighted Khalifa University’s technology park and commercial investment, which facilitate the transfer and commercialization of academic innovations, offering a robust platform for future collaboration.

Towards a Collaborative Future
During the open discussion, both parties explored possibilities in joint postgraduate programs, innovation incubation, and collaboration between their respective technology parks. This visit marks the beginning of a promising partnership between Tsinghua University and Khalifa University in education and technological innovation.
