On the morning of April 25, 2004, the Department of Electronic Engineering held the establishment and donation ceremony of the E-Friend Foundation. To support the educational business of the alma mater and encourage and help students with financial difficulties to strive to become useful persons, 18 off-campus alumni from the Department of Electronic Engineering donated a total of RMB 25,800 to E-Friend Foundation. The establishment and donation ceremony was chaired by the leader of the Student Group of the Department of Electronic Engineering. Li Yanhe, deputy dean of the School of Information Science and Technology, Feng Zhenghe, Chair of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Chen Xu, secretary of the Party Committee, Zhang Lin, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, and some teachers attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, the alumni expressed their nostalgia and gratitude to their alma mater with plain and simple language, and expressed their desire to give back to their alma mater and contribute to the educational business of their alma mater after graduation. Their wishes were harder to achieve in the past due to various reasons. Now the establishment of the E-Friend Foundation has satisfied their wishes. We hope that E-Friend Foundation can become a bridge for communications and facilitate more alumni to continue to care and support the educational business of the Department of Electronic Engineering.
