Academician Lu Jianxun donated to E-Friend Foundation

On April 3, 2007, Lu Jianxun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering donated RMB 100,000 to E-Friend Foundation managed by our department to support students with financial difficulties in the Department of Electronic Engineering in order to realize his wish for many years.

Lu Jianxun is a famous communication engineering expert in China. His native place is Hangzhou, Zhejiang. Born in Beijing, he studied at Tsinghua University from September 1947 to November 1950. He is a researcher of China Ship Research and Development Academy and consultant of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. He is an Expert Consultation Committee of Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and honorary director of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers He served as the president of China Ship Research and Development Academy. He has been engaged in the development of ship communications engineering for a long time, led and organized the development of special nuclear submarine communication systems, proposed general technology schemes and technical indicators, and solved the key technologies of the system. He has pioneered the scientific research field of long wave communication in China, and his series of achievements have been applied to many national key projects. He has led the development of shore-ship and ship-ship communication systems in national key projects, provided a variety of communication equipment and systems completely, and successfully completed the communication task of intercontinental missile sea test in China. He has taken the lead in reforming the research institute, actively promoted the conversion from defense to civilian, developed high technology, and establish dozens of national-level Torch Plan projects. He was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1995.
