To further strengthen the construction of grass-roots party organizations, establish the struggle feelings, cultivate the party spirit, and remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind, on November 22, the Party Branch of the Institute of Circuit, Department of Electronic Engineering and Wireless Graduate 192 Party Branch jointly held an old teacher exchange symposium under the call of the Party Committee of the Department of Electronic Engineering and a total of 21 people attended the symposium.

Yin Daheng was the director of the Circuit Teaching and Research Group before, and did a lot of pioneering scientific research work. His main direction is graph theory and dedicated chip design, and he established related enterprises from the scientific research direction. Mr. Yin can be said to be an important representative of scientific research, teaching and industrialization. Mr. Yin talked about the arduous course of the Department of Electronic Engineering gradually developing and growing stronger from a very weak foundation since 1980, and how the Department of Electronic Engineering enhanced its independent chip design capabilities and "threw away the soldering iron" step by step. He understood the principle that scientific research should be oriented to the enterprise needs especially from the process of designing 2912 and 2932 chips by the research group, and encouraged us to engage in scholarship.

Lei Youhua was mainly engaged in teaching work and mainly taught High-Frequency Circuit. After retirement, he still works hard to be engaged in some teaching work and studies microwave and radio frequency test devices and methods. What is worthy of admiration is that Mr. Lei has a strong learning ability for new knowledge. Mr. Lei is currently very interested in AI, and also begins to study it. Lei Youhua described his 60-year arduous journey in Tsinghua University with "Four ins and four outs of Tsinghua University, a seventy-thirty ratio of turmoil and stability". Mr. Lei entered the school in 1959, graduated in 1965 and established the Tsinghua branch in Mianyang. After going back to school for a short time in 1969, he went to work in Jiangxi. During the period of time, many teachers and students struggled with bilharziasis and other difficult environment. After returning to Tsinghua University from Jiangxi briefly in 1971, he went to Mianyang to build the Department of Radio Electronics Branch. Over the period of 8 years, he didn't come back until 1979. Mr. Lei specifically mentioned that on August 24, 1966, the Red Guards damaged the old second school gate and the gate was not rebuilt until 1991. The Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University began to conduct the daily work normally after May 1979. Mr. Lei mentioned the unstable 14 years and the continuous exploration and struggle of the teachers and students of the Department of Electronic Engineering are meant to encourage us to seize the present golden time to study hard and live up to our youth.

Wang Hui served as the director of the Teaching and Research Group of the Institute of Circuit, the deputy teaching Chair of the Department of Electronic Engineering, the deputy dean of the School of Information Science and Technology, and the deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office. Ms. Wang's main direction is computer-aided design, fast circuit simulation, etc. After her retirement, Ms. Wang was still active in the front line of scientific research, led students to do scientific research, doing projects, etc., until her last student graduated in 2016. As the senior person in charge of educational affairs, Ms. Wang mainly talked to us about two expectations. One is the relationship between the depth and breadth of the subject. In today's world, Ms. Wang felt that we should have a wider range of knowledge. Ms. Wang warned us not to only focus on things in our own fields. Tsinghua University provides very good conditions to understand knowledge in other fields. After we understand these knowledge, a broader foundation for our future development will be laid. The other is more communication with students. Students of the Tsinghua University should go out and see what their peers in the world are doing. Knowledge has no fields and is interconnected, and there may be similarities between different disciplines.

After the speeches delivered by the old teachers and party members, every branch member was deeply moved. The spirit of the ceaseless self-improvement, assiduous seeking and wholehearted devotion to the nation of the older generation of Tsinghua people that they show has deeply affected each of our party members. We must strive to keep up with them and live up to our glorious youth.
